Over the last year or so I've created a whole load of small rusty robots and its got me to thinking about the world that they live in which is the reason for this rambling blog!

The robots live in a giant, long abandoned scrapyard and have over the centuries developed their own sort of society, in the most part comprised of stuff they have found in all the rubbish we left behind in their home. Now they live in a number of different tribes, each with their own colours and unique lifestyle and at times squabble over territory and useful bits and bobs.

Rusty Robots Series 1

Most of the robots I've created thus far stand between 4 and 6 inches tall and take considerable time and effort to construct and as such are one off pieces. I now have a casting machine and I plan on creating a whole range of smaller robots which I will cast and sell so folks can have the fun of collecting and painting their own! I am also wanting to explore making different sizes and shapes of robots ranging from the smallest scuttlebot to the gigantic warbots and this new smaller size will allow me to have a bash at creating a wide selection of robots for each of the tribes as well as a host of special characters and more!

Over the next few weeks I will be bombarding the blog with a plethora of different bits and bobs ranging from background on each of the initial tribes, to concept sketches of some of the different varieties of robots. I am also going to be sculpting up a wide variety of robots which I am hoping to cast within the next few months!

All the best!
